Bye-Bye Brickley DeLong, Hello New Job!!

I'm flying the coop and leaving Brickley DeLong. After only 6 months at BD (a LONG 6 months, I might add) I have found a new job. One that I think will fit my personality better. I'll be starting at Challenge Machinery (http://www.challengemachinery.com/) on Monday, January 7th. I think my official title is Inside Sales but it doesn't adequately describe what I'll be doing. Though I'll be in the Sales and Marketing department, I won't be doing much selling. I'll mostly be helping customers place orders, answer questions, and help with basic marketing programs. So, Friday is my last day at Brickley DeLong and I couldn't be happier. I get a new job AND I'll have two weeks off before I have to start.

Today I Start Menopause

That title caught your attention, didn't it? Yup, today I'll be in menopause. Tim and I went to my post op appointment on Tuesday. My doctor, Dr. Cree, said that I'm not the worst case of endometriosis that he's seen but I am the most widespread. (You never really want to be on any doctor's top ten list.) He said that he found lesions on my stomach, bowels, appendix, etc... and suggested that we start trying for children right away. I think the look of shock and horror on our faces adequately communicated to him that we weren't ready. So he said that there were some drug options. First, I will be given a shot today that puts me into menopause for 6 months. This will help shrink what remaining lesions he didn't get rid of during surgery and will prevent new ones from forming. Then after the 6 months, I will be put on a birth control that only allows a few periods a year. I'll go off the birth control when we want to start having kids and we should be okay. If we don't get pregnant right away then it's surgery time again to clean me out one more time. It's a lot to take in and I just wish I could be in proper working order but I guess God has different plans. Wish me luck!

My Surgery is Over and Christmas is Almost Here!

I SURVIVED! My surgery is behind me and Tim and I are looking forward to Christmas. My surgery was, thankfully, uneventful and less scary than my imagination let me build it up to be. It's amazing where your mind will take you if you let it. But, praise God, He gave me such wonderful nurses and a caring husband that they really put my mind at ease. The nurses understood my fears and were able to give me something to stop my out of control mind from racing. Overall it was a good experience and I realized how cared for I am. I had more friends and family wish me well and take care of me than you could imagine. I have the best people around me and I'm so fortunate.
Now on to Christmas...If you didn't get to see the Hodgin's Christmas card, click the link below. It's a good laugh!

My Teeth are Chattering

I'm nervous! I'm having surgery on Wednesday and I've never had surgery before. Please pray that my nerves calm down. It's silly, I know, because it's just outpatient but I don't even like visiting people in hospitals let alone being a patient. Yikes! I'm sure everything will be fine but I wouldn't mind your prayers.
Thanks!

I know you've been waiting so here are some wedding pictures to show you. We picked up our pics from our photographer last week. They're AMAZING! It's going to be so hard picking the ones we want to order because we love so many of them. They did a great job of capturing what the day was all about. My friend Shelly took a ton of pics and I have attached a few of them to this post. Enjoy!

Not Very Good at Blogging

Okay, I know, I'm not very good at blogging. This blogging business takes a lot of work. Yikes! So here's the low down...Married life hasn't been that big of an adjustment. I have to say it's been a easy transition. We're getting ready for the holidays and hopefully putting up our tree tonight or tomorrow night. It's early, I know, but I LOVE Christmas and the longer I can celebrate the better.
Tim is back to work and is working long hours...OUTSIDE. I feel sorry for him. It's starting to get cold out there and the forecast is calling for snow on Thanksgiving.
Speaking of Thanksgiving we have our usual plans. Eating, looking at the ads, snacking, watching football, eating a little more, taking a nap, and maybe topping it off with some more eating. Sounds about right!
The day after I may go shopping. I've never found the day after Thanksgiving shopping all that successful for me, but for some reason I get up at 5:00 every year, freeze, and fight the crowds. Sounds like fun, right?
As soon as I have some pictures to share with you I'll do my best to figure out how to get them on our blog.
Until then...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Our First Blog

This whole blogging business is new to me but because my cousin Kendra has one I figured I better get one. (What Kendra does...I do)
Tim thought a blog was a great idea because he can post his fishing/hunting pictures. I'm interested because then I can keep up to date with all my friends. In any case, here we are. We'll try our best to keep it up to date so you can see what we're up to. Of course, our biggest news is that we got married on October 5th. I can't wait to see our wedding photos. In fact, we should get them back any day now. When I have some to show you, I'll post them. (If I can figure out how)
So, keep checking back and add our address to your favorites list.
